Crisis at Christmas Singalong/Jazz Jam 
This year 4000 homeless people spent 23rd – 29th of December with Crisis, as a guest in a Crisis at Christmas centre.  Guests include rough sleepers, vulnerable women, those with dependency issues or with high support needs. Singaway  and Los Otros  led a Festive Singalong/Jazz Jam on Boxing Day afternoon at the  Crisis East London Centre in Hackney.   Click here for song list.  Some of us sang "There but for fortune" with Graham Larkbey & The Escape Committee at the Rose & Crown on Saturday 20th December where £480 was raised for Crisis.  Thanks to all who took part in singing, playing, rattling buckets or putting money in.  See you next year!

Kyyal Arts offered Indian Singing classes at The Mill from 10-11am on a Saturday morning.  I went along for a few weeks and learnt to sing Hindustani scales and rhythms.  It feels like a slow and meditative process - puts you in a great frame of mind for a stroll through the market after the class!

Open to all : Come along and learn some songs with the Rose & Crown Singers 2-4pm, enjoy tea and cakes, and work exhibited in the church as part of the E17 Art Trail then perform with the choir at 5pm

Reading Music for Singers at The Rose & Crown (Theatre Bar upstairs) Saturday 1st February 10am -12.30   £10 (£5 concessions)  From “reading the dots” to the interpretation of musical expressions, this is an introductory workshop for anyone who likes to sing.  Assuming no prior knowledge of written music, Christine Gwynn, of Arbitus Music will take us through the basics of rhythm, pitch and harmony. Hosted by the Rose & Crown Singers and SingawayE17, this will be a relaxed, informal session and we’ll organise follow-up meetings for those inspired to learn more.
